The Phonics at Home Curriculum

Support your child with phonics lessons at home.

The Phonics at Home Curriculum was created by a former teacher and SENCo, and carefully designed to fit into the chaos and calm of everyday life, so learning never feels like one more thing on your to-do list.

You want to help your child learn to read and write, but sometimes, it’s hard to know if your efforts are working.

Supporting your child’s literacy shouldn’t feel like guesswork.
You want to help, but finding the time (and headspace) feels impossible some days.
Your child shuts down the moment anything feels too much like learning.
You’re doing your best, but without a clear path, it’s hard to know what will make a difference.

You’ve saved the Instagram reels.
You’ve pinned the Pinterest activities.
You’ve even Googled “how to teach phonics at home” more times than you’d like to admit.

But despite your best intentions, it’s still hard to know what’s actually going to help your child learn to read and write.
And between the endless scroll, conflicting advice, and activities you never get round to doing - it’s no wonder it feels overwhelming.

What you do need is something fun and easy to follow that works and fits into real life.
That’s exactly what Phonics at Home was designed to do.

Now, imagine this instead...

Your child is reading and writing sentences with confidence, beaming with pride at what they can do.

You have a clear, simple plan to follow, so those few minutes of learning each day finally click. It’s no longer a battle… it becomes something they look forward to.

You feel confident, capable, and reassured - no second-guessing whether you’re doing it right.

And best of all?
You get to enjoy these moments together - learning becomes a way to connect, not another thing to tick off the list.

That’s what Phonics at Home makes possible.

A step-by-step curriculum that takes the uncertainty out of early literacy, so you can feel confident your child is building strong skills without the overwhelm.

No guesswork for you.
No pressure for them.
Just expert guidance, from an experienced teacher that makes learning feel doable - even on the busiest days.

Here’s the truth: strong early reading and writing skills aren’t just a nice-to-have.
With a growing literacy gap in the UK and a worrying decline in reading for pleasure, getting it right early on really matters.

But you don’t need more noise.
You need a clear path and someone you trust to walk it with you.

And your child?
They’ll gain the skills and confidence to read and write with ease.
They’ll build a strong foundation that sets them up not just for school, but for a lifetime of learning.
Because when learning clicks, confidence grows and so does their love of reading.

"He even asked to do more lessons!"

"My little boy is engaged throughout the lessons thanks to the interactive movement games, songs for each sound, and writing opportunities. He even asked to do more lessons as soon as we finished the first one! I get to actually enjoy learning with him, instead of worrying if I'm doing it right."

Holly, Mum to Mateo

I’m Del - a Phonics Teacher, Early Reading Specialist, qualified SENCo, and mum.
For over a decade, I worked in the classroom as an Early Years teacher, supporting children of all abilities, including those with speech and language needs.

But when I became a parent myself, I realised how hard it is to feel confident you’re doing the right thing, especially when your day’s already full of deadlines, dinner time, and everything in between.
You want to help your child learn, but piecing together Pinterest activities and random worksheets isn’t sustainable, and it can leave real gaps in their learning.

That’s why I poured everything I know from years of best practice into creating Phonics at Home.
To offer calm, expert-led support that fits into real family life.
To help you make the most of the small moments you do have, so your child can grow into a confident reader and writer, without the overwhelm.

Because you don’t need complicated.
You need real guidance that meets your child where they are and helps them take the next step with confidence.

What You'll Get with Phonics at Home

This 12-week, self-paced curriculum helps your child build the strong reading and writing foundations they need - and helps you feel confident supporting them.

  • 99 easy-to-follow, interactive, multisensory lessons that guide you both step by step. With Phonics at Home, you’ll have everything you need to support your child’s learning without having to plan or prep a thing.

  • Each 15-minute video lesson is led by me, so all you have to do is press play and follow along.

  • You’ll get a simple, clear plan for every lesson that shows exactly which skills your child is learning and how you can support them at each stage. Each plan also includes a Step Forward and Step Back option, so if the lesson feels too easy or tricky, you’ll know exactly how to adjust. Plus, you’ll find practical game suggestions, along with extra words and sentences to keep practising the focus sound in a fun, low-pressure way.

  • The learning isn’t tied to the screen - each video includes built-in pause points with movement games, practical activities, and opportunities to apply what’s just been taught, away from the screen.

  • Each single letter sound comes with its own song that matches the flashcard image helping your child learn how to form the letter in a fun, memorable way. Using music and song activates more areas of the brain, making it easier for the learning to stick. No tracing sheets here!
  • Each sound in Phases 3–5 comes with its own catchy phrase to help your child remember it easily and build confidence with tricky sounds.
  • Printable resources to support every step – including downloadable sound flashcards for Phases 2–5, sound mats to boost writing confidence, and real and alien word cards for each sound to build fluent blending and prepare for the Phonics Screening Check.
  • There are printable games and hands-on resources to match every lesson, so you can revisit key skills through play and connection - whenever it works for you.

  • And coming soon a full set of beautifully illustrated, teacher-written decodable phonics eBooks to match each sound and set of lessons, so your child can practise reading with books that are just right for where they are.

Just one video a day, for 12 weeks so you can stop second-guessing and start feeling sure of the impact you're making.

“What if my child isn't interested in learning at home?”

That’s exactly why Phonics at Home was created - to make learning feel active, playful, and never overwhelming.

It works even if:

Your child gets distracted easily.

You’ve tried worksheets, apps, or flashcards, and nothing stuck.

You’re not sure how to make phonics fun without the overwhelm.

Children learn best when they’re moving, and having fun - and that’s exactly what these lessons are built around.

Each one includes movement, games, and hands-on practice, so your child isn’t just sitting still, and learning becomes something they want to do.

Phonics at Home is ideal for you if…

  • Your child is in or just starting Reception and beginning to learn phonics, and you want to build strong foundations from the start.

  • Your child is in Year 1 or Year 2 and finding phonics tricky - blending sounds, recognising digraphs, or writing simple words feels like a struggle.

  • You want to support their learning at home but need something clear, calm, and practical that fits into daily life without adding to your mental load.

"I love that you guide the parent, as well as the child!"

"Phonics at Home is so easy to follow. I love that you guide the parent, as well as the child! After a night of little sleep due to a teething baby, that is so useful."
